2 Days Akagera National Park Adventure

This package starts with an amazing scenic drive to the park and then a short game drive. You will also have a sunset boat ride experience on Lake Ihema where you will spot some wildlife like Hippos before they get ready for night feeding.
Akagera National Park is one of Africa’s most remarkable success stories—home to lions, rhinos, the Big Five, and many more. There are over 13 000 large animals, including a rapidly growing number of apex predators. However, what makes Akagera special is the conservation efforts from African Parks. Just over 20 years ago, it was on the verge of being lost forever! However, visionary leadership from African Parks has built a story of prosperity and hope where wildlife is now flourishing.
Day1: Arriva, Transfer to Akagera and boat Ride on Lake Ihema
You will be welcomed on your arrival by Leone Tours and Travel representative and embark on your road transfer you to Akagera National Park. On your arrival, you will check in at your lodge for lunch and get ready for a boat ride on Lake Ihema. Enjoy a sunset boat ride on Lake Ihema and see herds of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and several water bird species.
While this park is one of Africa’s smaller game parks, its diversity of habitats is unique. There are lakes, marshes, savannahs, mountains, and woodlands, all of which make for truly spectacular scenery. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day2: Experience the game Drive in Akagera National Park
You will have early breakfast, and set off early to find wildlife and explore the low-lying plains, savannahs, woodlands, wetlands, and some of the many lakes that comprise this special place. With common sightings of zebra, giraffe, buffalo, topi, and many impalas, you will also be looking for elephants, rhinos, defassa waterbuck, roan antelope, eland, duiker, oribi, bohor reedbuck, klipspringer, and bushbuck.
You will have a packed lunch and stop at one of the designated picnic sites around the park so that you explore the park with no interruptions. Toilets are available in a few locations. Unfortunately, drinking water is unavailable outside the lodges, so ensure you bring sufficient for your drive.
In the afternoon, you will return to Kigali and be dropped to your lodge or at he airport marks the end of your trip with Leone Tours and Travel.
