DAY2
Hike from Budadiri to Sasa Camp
After breakfast, meet your mountain guide and trekking team for a briefing. Begin the Sasa Trail from the Budadiri area and start climbing through the mountain's lower slopes. The route includes steep sections and can be demanding, so keep a steady pace and take breaks when necessary.
As you gain altitude, pass through forest and bamboo vegetation while enjoying the natural surroundings. Your guide will help you manage the pace and follow the established route. Continue towards Sasa Camp, where you will rest and prepare for the next day's ascent.
Activity: Mountain trekking on the Sasa Trail
Terrain: Steep trail and forest vegetation
Overnight: Sasa Camp, subject to confirmed arrangements
DAY3
Continue Hiking to Mude Camp
Wake up to the mountain environment and enjoy breakfast before continuing your ascent towards Mude Camp. The trail passes through changing vegetation zones as you leave the lower forest behind and approach the higher mountain landscape.
Take time to appreciate the views, distinctive plants and open highland scenery along the route. Walking at a comfortable pace is important as altitude and weather can affect how strenuous the climb feels. On arrival at camp, rest, eat and prepare for the planned summit attempt.
Activity: Guided mountain trekking
Highlights: Changing vegetation and highland views

DAY4
Summit Wagagai Peak and Return to Camp
Set off early with your mountain team for the planned summit attempt. Hike across the high-altitude moorland towards Wagagai Peak, approximately 4,321 metres above sea level. The landscape becomes more exposed at higher elevations, and the weather can change quickly.
When conditions allow, enjoy the summit area and take photographs of the surrounding mountain scenery. After the visit, descend along the route agreed with your guide and return to camp for rest. This is a challenging day, so hydration, suitable layers and careful pacing are essential.
Highlight: Attempting Mount Elgon's highest point
Altitude: Approximately 4,321 metres
Note: Summit access depends on weather, safety and fitness
DAY5
Descend Mount Elgon and Transfer to Sipi Falls
After breakfast, begin your descent following the route confirmed by your guide and park team. As you lose altitude, notice the transition from open highland terrain to greener vegetation and lower mountain slopes.
Complete the planned descent and park exit arrangements before transferring towards the Sipi Falls area near Kapchorwa. Check in at your accommodation and relax after the mountain trek. Depending on your arrival time and energy levels, you may enjoy the surrounding countryside or save the waterfall walk for the next morning.
Activities: Mountain descent and road transfer
Destination: Sipi Falls area
